We take an innovative approach and work with community partners to meet basic needs, provide pathways to permanent housing, prevent homelessness where we can and help those we serve attain greater self-sufficiency and quality of life.
Responsibilities Your contribution is essential to our mission to prevent homelessness where we can.
You will work directly with individuals seeking rental assistance, deposit assistance, or utility assistance to help them complete applications, provide the proper documentation, coordinate the review and follow up of these applications with our assistance provider agencies.
Furthermore, you will help provide resources and assistance to help increase applicants' capacity to stay current with their payments in the future.
DUTIES Assess and qualify new potential applicants for the program Assist client to secure the proper documents and ensure the accuracy of their content.
Keep each client updated on the process Submit and update applications to assistance providers in a timely process Follow up with client for any additional requirements Update the status of each applicant on the program tracking sheet Coordinate follow up activities with each successful applicant to identify additional resources required to support the applicant's ability to meet their future financial obligations Promote the program through partner agencies, social media and email marketing Provide stories of success each month Coordinate with other staff to assist with these applications Cross-train in other programs to provide additional assistance when needed Skills and Experience Experience in assisting others with an application process Ability to instill a sense of calmness and trust Must be computer literate with proficiency using the internet, MS Office Programs (Power Point, Word, Excel), Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Zoom Good problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of housing insecure individuals Experience in an environment serving vulnerable populations with physical and emotional health risks or the equivalent Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, and professionals of diverse backgrounds Strong verbal and written skills Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Current driver's license and clean driving record High School Diploma or equivalent Bilingual English/Spanish required Physical Requirements This position occasionally requires moderate physical ability South County Compassion Center is an equal opportunity employer.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
