Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for EHS Compliance at siteWork alongside managers/employees on EHS issuesAssist in coordination, planning and facilitating training seminarsEducate staff via weekly safety trainings in English (Spanish beneficial, but not required)Assist in Accident ManagementCoordinate/lead Safety Committee meetings monthlyWeekly coaching on Lockout/Tagout and procedural auditsPerforms weekly/monthly inspections at each plantTrend, analyze accidents for trends and prevention measuresLearn and operate plant tools/equipmentRecognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action PlansAssist site management as needed with various EHS and production related projectsOther duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed Requirements / Education / Experience High School diploma or GED or equivalent training, experience, and educationMinimum 2
years of experience in concrete products manufacturing Excellent interpersonal skills:
ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees and managersWorking knowledge of OSHA, California State and EPA regulationsAbility to read, analyze and interpret plant safety procedures, professional journals and technical manualsExcellent communications skills, verbal, written, in-person and by telephoneStrong organizational, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills Ability to take initiative and work independentlyAdvanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Preferences Knowledge of environmental permitting and complianceOSHA 30HAZWOPER certifiedRCRA certifiedCPR, First Aid, AED certified Physical Environment While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to frequently sit and stand for extended periods of timeAbility to perform repetitive motions of the wrist, hands, and fingers to use a computer and keyboardMust wear company provided personal protective equipment - earplugs, hard hat, safety boots/shoes, and protective glasses.
